'The Old Bakery' Character cottage in Agios Martinos, Nr. Acharavi, Ionian Islands, Corfu - Peaceful village location of Agios Martinos, 3 km
to town and beaches.
Part of the cottage was formerly the first bakery in this area which we have converted into a spacious kitchen/dining room and a truly unique bathroom
with a sunken bath which now sits in the site of the old bread oven itself. On the ground floor there is also a cool lounge and a double bedroom with a
bespoke spiral staircase leading up to 2 further bedrooms and a bright lounge room and double doors out onto the terrace and roof top lap pool. Adjoin-
ing the cottage is a lovely two bedroom ground level apartment, with open plan high ceiling kitchen/ dining living space, and bathroom. Newly renovated
and originally being part of the old bakery, it has double glazed windows with mosquito blinds throughout and original marble floors. All guests enjoy
sole use of the pool and large roof terrace which can also be accessed via steps up the outside of the cottage. We are situated in the traditional village
of Agios Martinos, just 3km from Acharavi heading towards the mountains.

Greek life, our favorites being the daytime cicadas in the height of summer, the chiming of the Scops owls at night, not to mention the specta-
cle of the fireflies in early May! We particularly like the fact that we are in a quite village, but close enough Acharavi which has everything we
need. And love that we can feel in the hills one moment then jump in the car and be at the beach in five minutes!"¢**

Coast/Beach: Acharavi beach is the closest,3.5km, a long stretch of sand/pebbles the length of the town. It takes a couple of minutes in a car.
St.Spiridon's beach is 5km to the east and is very child friendly with shallow bathing. There are many beautiful beaches within a 20 min drive from the
village, we are very familiar with the area so can advise on where to visit to suit your needs.
Travel: 42km to Corfu Airport, about a 40 minute drive. Car hire is essential, we can advise on car hire - please feel free to ask.
Distances: Closest restaurant, the Monolithi, 1.5km (lovely walk) and the Sunset restaurant 2.5km, for the most amazing view of the sunset! Acharavi,
a bustling town is 3km away. Pandokrator, the highest mountain on the island, and well worth a visit, 14km
Further Details: Acharavi has everything you would need on holiday: beaches, supermarkets, shops, tavernas, banks, bus network, post
office,chemists, medical centres and dentists it's one of the larger towns on the north coast. Agios Martinos is on the main route to Pantokrator, the
highest point of the island and well worth a visit. Hydropolis, a large water park is about a five minute drive from us, just outside Acharavi. A popular
destination for birdwatcher's in the Autumn and spring, being situated a few kilometers from the Antinioti Lagoon, which is part of the Natura 2000
project and attracts a wide range of water birds and Mount Pantokrator and it's foothills which are home to eagles, kites, falcons, Hoopoe and kestrels.
As well as migratory birds, the springtime here is famous for it's abundance of wildflowers, walkers can expect to see chamomile, lilacs, cyclamen, hare-
bells and voilets, wild tulips and lupin, anenome, and over 30 species of wild orchid, there are some lovely walks from the village.
